Words to make me scream: we have always done it that way

Working in the field of technology for more than 40 years I am well familiar the thought that the only thing that is constant is change.

Heraclitus was an ancient Greek philosopher known for his doctrine of change being central to the universe. I wonder how Heraclitus would deal with some of the people I have encountered who are fixated on the philosophy of “we have always done it that way.”
