-Did you do your research?  People keep saying "Pai, a former Verizon attorney."  Likewise they say, " appointed FCC chief by President Donald Trump."  They fail to mention that between 2007 and 2011, Pai held several positions in the FCC's Office of General Counsel. In 2011 Pai was nominated on the Federal Communications Commission by President Barack Obama.

-I am not going to quote from the following article, but there is a lot of interesting information there.  I am not supporting or defending Ajit Pai, just making the point that real research takes some effort. https://www.forbes.com/sites/larrydownes/2017/01/24/why-is-the-media-smearing-new-fcc-chair-ajit-pai-as-the-enemy-of-net-neutrality/

-A2A Is the "net neutrality" thing being exaggerated?
-
-YES!  Absolutely!
-
-In 2011 I was active on various internet forums, not Quora, and the topics of SOPA and PIPA were always comining up, and I spend a lot of time writing about the pros and cons of the proposed legislation.  Many of the same groups that are screaming about "saving net neutrality" were saving the internet from SOPA and PIPA in 2011. I wonder how many people reading this answer remember "all the outrage" over SOPA and PIPA?
-
-If you have no idea what I am talking about as far as SOPA and PIPA take a look at the link below which gives some information on this proposed legislation.
-
-As far as net neutrality being exaggerated, based on the many questions I am getting on Quora, it is getting way too crazy.  The media has many people believing that the internet as we once knew it came to an end yesterday.  I am not that all excited about what happened yesterday. It's just one more battle in an ongoing war to control the internet.
