A2A Is the “net neutrality” thing being exaggerated?
YES! Absolutely!
In 2011 I was active on various internet forums, not Quora, and the topics of SOPA and PIPA were always comining up, and I spend a lot of time writing about the pros and cons of the proposed legislation. Many of the same groups that are screaming about “saving net neutrality” were saving the internet from SOPA and PIPA in 2011. I wonder how many people reading this answer remember “all the outrage” over SOPA and PIPA?
If you have no idea what I am talking about as far as SOPA and PIPA take a look at the link below which gives some information on this proposed legislation.
As far as net neutrality being exaggerated, based on the many questions I am getting on Quora, it is getting way too crazy. The media has many people believing that the internet as we once knew it came to an end yesterday. I am not that all excited about what happened yesterday. It's just one more battle in an ongoing war to control the internet.
